Di dunia bisnis, tangisan Anda adalah tangisan sesungguhnya, jeritanpun , jeritan yang bukan pura-pura. Ada kawan dan tentu ada lawan. Ada trik dan ada taktik.
Cocoklah kalau ada yang mempersonafikasikan dunia bisnis bagaikan dunia perang, dan entrepreneur sejati tak ubahnya sebagai seorang Samurai di medan laga. Dia mempelajari medan laga, mengasah pedang menyiapkan amunisi. Dia mengendus gerak musuh, menyusun diplomasi.
Kini saya ingin megantarkan Anda ke medan laga itu menyaksikan jurus-jurus yang dipakai oleh para entrepreneur sejati. Sekali lagi, Anda tidak akan pernah menguasai jurus-jurus ini, kecuali Anda mencobanya. Untuk sementara, Anda boleh membaca dulu. Tapi ingat, jurus-jurus ini bersifat rahasia. Anda tidak diperkenankan membocorkannnya kepada pihak lawan. Ini hanya untuk kita berdua sesama Samurai, eh entrepreneur. Jurus 1: Langsung mulai
Memulai adalah bagian terberat dari proses mendirikan usaha. Jurusnya hanya satu: langsung mulai. Mulai saja. Bismillahirahmanirrahim. Yang lainnya, Anda tambahkan setelah mulai, sambil jalan. Bob Sadino mengatakan, "Mulai secara bodoh, jangan banyak hitung." Saya yakin, maksudnya bukan sama sekali tidak pakai hitung-hitungan. Hitungannya jangan terlalu banyak. Tidak semua hitungan diperlukan sebelum memulai, bukan? Sambil jalan nanti, sambil hitungannya diteruskan.
Mental blok Anda akan mencoba menahan-nahan Anda untuk tidak mulai segera. "Ini gagasan bagus, tapi tak kan ada tenaga terampil yang bisa buat. Produk ini pasti banyak diminati, tapi modalnya banyak dan dari mana didapat? Kalau saya jual produk ini, pesaingnya minta ampun. Lokasi ini memang pas, tapi banyak premannya."
Itulah cuplikan sebagian dialog-dialog yang terjadi di dalam batin Anda ketika berkeinginan mendirikan usaha. Kalau dialog-dialog itu Anda gubris, Anda tidak akan mulai-mulai. Anda telah gagal di jurus pertama.
Padahal, Anda tidak akan bisa mengelak dari blokade semacam itu, karena Tuhan membuat semuanya agar Anda berhati-hati. Kemanapun Anda melihat ada jalan, maka di sana Anda akan melihat penghalang. Betul, tidak hanya satu jalan ke Roma. Namun di setiap jalan selalu terlihat blokade. Orang pintar menyebutnya "mental block". Entrepreneur sejati mensiasatinya, bukan lari. Jurus 2: Manfaatkan informasi seremeh apapun
Entrepreneur tidak pernah meremehkan sekecil apapun informasi, baik itu informasi tentang produk, tentang pembiayaan, tentang pasar, tentang pemasok, tentang lokasi, tentang metoda, tentang pesaing. Dia tidak akan mengambil hanya dari satu sumber resmi saja. Sumber tak resmipun di manfaatkan. Banyak informasi peluang usaha diperoleh justru dari ngobrol-ngobrol santai di warung kopi.
Waktu dulu saya membuka restoran Mie Ayam di Prabumulih, informasi itu saya peroleh dari tukang cukur rambut ketika saya sedang bercukur. Istri saya mendirikan industri kue di Lampung, bermula dari seorang tetangga yang menceritakan bahwa dia tidak sengaja melihat iklan kursus kue gratis dari pabrik tepung terigu, Bogasari. Jurus 3: Bogol (Bisnis Optimis dengan Gagasan Orang Lain)
Apakah seorang entrepreneur harus genius seperti Einstein? Apakah entrepreneur harus punya gagasan-gagasan orisinil untuk bisa membuat usaha? Entrepreneur sejati justru sering memanfaatkan gagasan orang lain.
Satu hari saya diskusi dengan kawan saya tentang satu prospek bisnis, sambil minum kopi. Tanpa sadar saya mencoba menguraikan prospek bisnis perkebunan kelapa sawit yang saya kutip dari satu tabloid. Saya mencoba membuat analisa-analisa singkat, asal-asalan saja. Maklumlah sambil ngopi. Waktu itu dia mangut-mangut dan berkali-kali menarik nafas panjang. Tahukah Anda, setelah beberapa bulan saya tidak berjumpa dengannya, saya dengar dia sudah buka sebuah perkebunan kelapa sawit seluas 20 hektar di Lampung selatan dan sedang mempersiapkan lahan 20 hektar berikutnya.
Peternakan ayam saya yang sekarang berjalan, aslinya bukan gagasan saya, tapi gagasan orang lain. Tidak salah, kan? Karena memang terlalu banyak yang kita buat sebetulnya hasil meniru, mencontek. Yang salah adalah membajak karya orang dan menjualnya. Jurus 4: Bodol (Bisnis Optimis dengan Duit Orang Lain)
Apakah seorang entrepreneur harus punya banyak uang sebagai modal? Entrepreneur yang paling kreatif, justru mendirikan kerajaan bisnis, tanpa meninvestasikan satu senpun uangnya. Mengapa? Karena ia berhasil membujuk (bukan menipu) investor dan bankir untuk membiayai semua bisnisnya. Dia mendirikan bisnis dengan duit orang lain. Jurus 5: Botol (Bisnis Optimis dengan Tenaga Orang Lain
Apakah entrepreneur harus memiliki semua keahlian yang diperlukan? Entrepreneur sejati, justru tidak mengerjakan sendiri. Dia manfaatkan keahlian dan tenaga orang lain. Bisnisnya jalan, sementara ia jalan-jalan.
Itulah sebabnya Entrepreneur perlu banyak orang. Entrepreneur perlu banyak kawan, relasi, partner. Bukan saja untuk menjadi calon investor, tapi juga untuk menjadi calon pemasok, calon pembeli, calon manager, calon konsultan, calon promotor, calon mediator (alias calo), calon karyawan. Entrepreneur sejati akan mengembangkan jaringan pertemanannya seluas mungkin. Bukan hanya di dunia nyata, tapi dia bangun juga pertemanan di dunia maya.
Di jaringan FB, dia hanya aktifkan dua tombol pertemanan, "add" dan "confirm". Dia tak pernah pakai tombol "ignore" apalagi tombol "remove".

SID, punk rock pioneers of Bali, were born and bred
in Kuta Rock City. The band is three chord attitude-heavy
young men, by name :
Bobby Kool (lead vocal, guitar, a dog
lover and a graphic designer)
, Eka Rock (low ridin' family man, beer
drinker, laid back bass and backing vocal and a warm smilin'
Rock 'N Roll bandman, IT warior)
, Jrx (low ridin' beer drinking Rock
'N Roll prince charming, drummer and a hairwax junkie,
Bar owner)
The name 'Superman is Dead' started its' evolution
from Stone Temple Pilot's "Superman Silvergun".
The name moved on to "Superman is Dead" cause
they like the idea that there's no such thing as a
perfect person out there.
SID actually stumbled together in '95, drawn by their
common love of Green Day and NOFX. Their influences
soon extended to the punk 'n roll genre a la Supersuckers,
Living End and Social Distortion, and here they stay.
They say what they wanna say, how they wanna say it.
In your face, to say it precisely.
SID public image, self described, is "Punk Rock
a Bali" (think raw energy of NOFX vs Social Distortion
supersonically fueled with beer-soaked Balinese Rockabilly
attitude).
History ? SID produced their first three albums independently
(the boys worked years of crappy night jobs), with
fabulous, small scale indie labels 1997 "Case
15", 1999 "Superman is Dead", 2002 "Bad
Bad Bad"(mini album, 6 tracks).
In March 2003, SID finally signed with Sony-BMG Indonesia
after extended negotiations regarding their right to
sing the majority of their tracks in English and have
full artistic rights over their 'image'!! With that
decision they single handedly became the first band
from Bali to be invited to sign with a major recording
label in Indonesia, the first band in their nation
(to my knowledge) to be recording majority of songs
in English and the first punk band in Indonesia to
get the national exposure and promotion that working
with a major label in a third world country provides.
And so the history of Indonesian Punk Rock begins!
And as for the question that everyone wants to know,
the infamous bomb in Bali happened about 75 M from
their home, hangout center, punk rock boutique, bar
and rehearsal studio that is also Jrx' house, in the
heart of Kuta.
After panel beating back the rolling doors of the studio
and shifting a little debris, rehearsals continued
as usual. Yeah, they saw a lot, it sucked big time,
but its' not gonna stop 'em!
And where are they now? At the end of 2002, one of
the more respectable music mags here cited SID as "The
Next Big Thing" for 2003. With the release of
their fourth album "Kuta Rock City" followed
by major air play nationally and in some countries
overseas, coupled with the instant popularity of their
newest film clip.
SID suddenly find themselves touring continuously
throughout Indonesia. Last week they were in four major
Indonesian cities, on three islands, in 7 days! Sometimes
playing for free at underground scene clubs, sometimes
at street skate parties or alternative band festivals,
at lots of universities and even occasionally at "classy" venues
who would have probably denied them entrance years
ago!
Which means more beers for all.
In 2003 SID even got a mention in Time Asia.
They also won a few music awards “MTV Awards
for The Best New Artist 2003”, “AMI Awards
for The Best New Artist 2003” and nominated again
in “AMI Awards 2006 for The Best Rock Album”.
October 2007, they did an amazing Australian tour,
8 cities, 16 gigs, 33 days with their strong D.I.Y
work ethic.
June – July 2009, Superman Is Dead held An
American Tour, 16 Gigs in 16 cities. 11 gigs of them were the ‘ Vans
Warped Tour’ and the last 5 gigs were ‘From Bali With Rock’. They did a
very hard work to succeed this excited tour, had crossed the big land
from westcoast to eastcoast and got back to westcoast.
SID had share stages with international bands such
as International Noise Conspiracy, NOFX, MXPX and Hoobastank.
They remain proud, boys from the streets of Kuta with
a love of punk rock, beers and a good time. Ready for
whatever comes next, excited about the next gig.
